NOTICE OF BOARD OF APPEAL AND EQUALIZATION OF THE CITY COUNCIL CITY OF LAKE SHORE WHICH WILL OCCUR BY TELEPHONIC MEANS

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, That the Board of Appeal and Equalization for the City of Lake Shore, Cass County, Minnesota shall meet on Monday, April 13, 2020 at 11:00 am by conference call because of the COVID-19 Pandemic and the peacetime state of emergency declared by Governor Tim Walz. All City Council Members in attendance will appear by telephone. All votes shall be roll-call votes pursuant to Statute so that each City Council Member’s vote on each issue can be identified. The purpose of the meeting is to determine whether taxable property in the jurisdiction has been properly valued and classified by the assessor, and to determine whether corrections need to be made.

If you believe the value or classification of your property is incorrect, please contact your assessor’s office to discuss your concerns. If you are not satisfied with the valuation or classification after discussing it with your assessor, you may appear before the Local Board of Appeal and Equalization. The Board shall review the valuation, classification, or both if necessary, and shall correct it as needed. Generally, an appearance before your Local Board of Appeal and Equalization is required by law before an appeal can be taken to the County Board of Appeal and Equalization.

There will be a conference phone set up at the Lake Shore City Hall 8583 Interlachen Road, Nisswa, MN 56468, so that members of the public can participate in the public meeting if they choose to. Pending further notice and/or events, the City Attorney shall be physically present at the City Hall as required by statute and to facilitate public participation.
