Be a Critical Connector!

An additional $251,000 in donations is needed to provide a cash match for a critical grant application to complete three remaining segments (Nisswa, Lake Shore and Fairview) of the Gull Lake Trail.

The City of Lake Shore has partnered with the Brainerd Lakes Area Community Foundation (BLACF), a 501-c-3 charitable organization so your donation is tax deductible. To contribute, please make checks payable to BLACF: Gull Lake Trail-Lake Shore.

The Gull Lake Trail is a 21-mile multi-use trail that encompasses the breathtaking beauty of Gull Lake, connecting the Gull Lake Dam on the east, traveling south and along the west side of the lake reaching north to the Nisswa Lake Park & Recreational Area, downtown Nisswa and the Paul Bunyan State Trail. The trail enhances our community by increasing exercise safety for residents and visitors alike in a way that connects us to neighbors, nature, and the region’s great amenities.

A collaborative grant application between Fairview Township and the cities of Nisswa and Lake Shore will be submitted to the Greater Minnesota Regional Parks and Trails Commission for $5,121,000 in Legacy Amendment Parks & Trails funds. A $251,000 cash match to this request would solidify our collective commitment to completing this trail project.

Show your support for this year-round recreational route. Contribute by July 27, 2023 to have your donation included in the match for the grant application to complete the last critical connections within the Gull Lake Trail.
